It seems that plants from the mini ice age that we had a few hundred years ago are now sprouting. This is interesting in itself but it does shed some light upon how plants survived ice ages and then rebounded after the ice thawed.

I'm not a big fan of GMO. I don't want to eat GMO. No one knows what the long term effects of genetically modified organisms will do to us. Join the fight!
It looks like composting is finally starting to be understood. The U.S. generates millions of tons of food waste every year. That waste can be used to create compost instead of filling landfills. What is needed are regional composting centers near every major metropolitan area in the U.S. so that the costs of composting don't outweigh the benefits.

A swarm of bees attacked a news team in Florida as they were filming the demolition of a mall.
Honey bees will not attack unless provoked and if their hive was in that mall then I can understand why they were angry. If you find a hive of honey bees in your house or yard call a local beekeeper before you call an exterminator.
Bees are in trouble and they need all the help they can get.

Check out the glass frogs. These are really cool looking frogs with green bones. I wonder if they eat fruit flies or mealworms?
