Dan The Man asked:

I recently won an Ebay auction and bought what I thought was a floating pond plant for my water garden. The box I received in the mail was full of cuttings (stems, leaves, but no roots) wrapped in wet newspaper. If I put these cuttings in my pond will they start their own root system? Thank you in advance for your insight.

Ken Chiarella…instantly.

you can try it… I was of the mind that you needed a full plant to get a daughter and then more…. but I’m not sure… maybe Pondlady will get this and answer more fer sure….

You can do 2 things. (I do both). You can just drop them into the pond. They will grow. The other way is to pot them as a marginal. Sometimes I just anchor the plant to the side of the pond with no pot.
